Melbourne, Ark. (March 14, 2022) — Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund for Izard County held a spring scholarship awards ceremony on March 13th at the 16th District Courtroom in Melbourne. The award program included family and friends of the seven Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship recipients awarded. Special guest for this event was Assistant Deputy Chief Charles Melton.
Scholarship recipient Emory Gardner conveyed to the attendees “the best thing about this program is that if you need help, whatever it is, you just call, and a volunteer is there. Tutoring, there is a volunteer; couponing tips, there is a volunteer; just whatever you need. It is fabulous and this program has helped me so much.”
Spring scholarships were awarded to Natasha Duncan, Kayla Boswell, Emory Gardner, Lisa James, Melanie Beeler, Stephanie Travis, and Asha Jones with special recognition to our graduating recipient Lisa James. Lisa is completing her Assistant Occupational Therapy program and will soon be providing occupational services locally. Lisa became an Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Recipient in 2020 and has worked hard to reach her dream of helping those with children in need of occupational therapy.
