About the Entergy Scholars Program

The Entergy Charitable Foundation has awarded $54,000 to the ASPSF in support of the Entergy Scholars Sub-grant initiative. The purpose of this program is to award scholarships to low-income single parents who seek to earn a college degree and work in a professional, well-paying job. We expect at least 83% of all scholarship awardees will remain in school and earn their degrees. Among graduates, we expect a minimum of 90% will obtain employment at higher than poverty wages within six months of graduation, with the exception of those who continue in higher degree programs.

Application and Guidelines

IMPORTANT: The Entergy Charitable Foundation requests that affiliates of the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund do not submit funding proposals directly from Entergy Arkansas or its representatives. This does not include participation in ongoing Entergy Power to Care Facebook campaigns.

Award Selection

Grantees will select Entergy Scholars from among their respective pools of scholarship applicants who reside in counties in Arkansas that are served by the Entergy Corporation. Students will be mentored by SPSF Affiliate board members and others who will provide encouragement, counseling, resource information and other non-financial help, in addition to their scholarship awards.

Sub-grants awarded to SPSF affiliates will be considered by ASPSF to be local contributions and will be matched according to ASPSF Matching Grant Guidelines.

Grantees are required to host a ceremony to announce scholarship awards designated as Entergy Scholars. Local officials of Entergy Corporation will be invited to participate in the ceremony and every effort will be made by the Grantee to obtain media coverage by newspapers, radio, and television. It is requested that Grantees submit copies of such media coverage to ASPSF.
