RESULTS OF 2005 FOLLOW-UP

For the first time in twenty-one years, 2005 saw sixty-four Single Parent Scholarship Funds make 1,895 awards worth $1,111,588. This represents a remarkable achievement, given that we began statewide efforts in 1990 with 106 scholarship awards worth $43,878 in four counties!

Since 1990, affiliates of the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund have awarded 15,154 scholarships worth $7,462,919. Affiliate matching grant support from the ASPSF has totaled $1,860,305.

Crossing the threshold of one million dollars in scholarship aid in a twelve-month period is a tremendous achievement. It means that nearly 2,000 single parents received the help they need and deserve to achieve their goal of earning a college diploma. It also means that literally thousands of contributions from every corner of our state were made to local SPSF’s.
